Now, you're voice can be part of the show. Just click, and send me a voice recording of yourself, requesting a song, telling a joke, maybe even suggesting a trivia question for our listeners, or whatever!!!! It's easy, and it's more fun than sending in two box tops to get a magic decoder ring!
Listen to my show, I Luv Oldies Wednesday at 1pm for a chance to win a copy of my new Sci-Fi short story "Asteroid Planet." Click on the video for a brief synopsis of the story.
Joe, you're right. I haven't seen that. BTW, I did get your package. Thanks. I just couldn't figure out how to play the game. And, the 78 LP....is fantastic....but we don't have any - not even one - turntable at the radio station, and neither do I. However, I gave the LP to Richard Beatty who hosts the songwriter's gallery on the weekends. He say he can transfer it to a cd, and return the LP. I hope to get it tomorrow, wednesday when I come into the station again.
Something I bet you have not seen...some of a series of 52 saleman's modivational posters from the 1920s featuring fan favorite...Bill Jones!
Hey Bill,
Luv the trivia questions! Today's question about The Jetsons had two answers, Astro and Rosie. But do you remember Astro's name when Elroy found him at a park?? Tralfaz!! Bill
Back in 1963 or 1964 The Trocodero Ballroom in the Old Elitch Gardens on 38th & Tennyson let you into the park for a quarter to see a touring Rock & Roll concert. KIMN Radio, the top rock & roll station at that time sponsered it. Hal Moore, Pogo Poog, Bells a Poppin Bell were dj's that MC'd it. I saw Wayne Newton, Dick & Dee Dee, Sam the Sham, The Astronauts, possisbly., don't hang your hat on it, The Rightous Bros, Freddy Cannon and I can't think of who else. Everyone performed two sets, one song each set. They came twice, maybe 3 times that summer. We all stood around the ballroom floor with the performers in the middle. What a great time, all for a quarter.
Was actually Linda Lavin played Alice, Polly Hoilday was Flo...worked at Mel's...wish I could break free to call!
Hey Bill...I've got several copies of game (Bowling Nite) to donate that you are welcome to use as prizes for trivia. It's a game I created and you can see it here... http://wrinkledbrowgames.com

You have to watch this...

You meantioned Durward Kirby today...reminded me of a Bullwinkle episode that revolved around the Kirwood Derby...a hat that makes it's wearer the most intelligent person on Earth. Loved that show...it was so not written for kids.
That is a collector's piece for sure. I'd sure like to hear it, although it does say not for public performance. Can you drop it off at the radio station.....I think we can play a 78, Actually, I know we could play it on some kind of turntable, record it at whatever speed and then play it back at 78. Contact me at billj710@aol.com. BTW - I was three months and 1 day old when this was recorded.
